Debunking Nutrition Myths with Science

Cracking the Code!

Are you tired of navigating through a maze of nutrition advice tailored for every corner of the globe except your own kitchen? Fear not, because I’m here to debunk some very common myths and add a delicious twist to your culinary repertoire!

Myth#1 Carbs are the Enemy!

It’s time to stop fearing the roti, bread and rice! Carbohydrates are a vital source of energy, especially for those of us with bustling desi lifestyles. The key is to opt for whole grains like brown rice and whole wheat roti if available or portion control  your way around these foods, either way they can provide sustained energy without the crash.

Myth #2 Ghee Spells Disaster!

Contrary to popular belief, ghee can be a healthy addition to your diet when consumed in moderation. Rich in healthy fats and vitamins, ghee adds a wonderful depth of flavor to your dishes. Instead of cooking with desi ghee that too in large quantities, use water to cook ingredients where possible and drizzle that ghee as a final touch to the recipe. Just remember, a little goes a long way!

Myth #3 Say No to Spices!

Spices aren’t just for flavor; they’re packed with antioxidants and have numerous health benefits. Embrace the vibrant flavors of turmeric (Curcumin is a bioactive compound found in turmeric, a spice commonly used in cooking and traditional medicine. It is known for its potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective properties.), cumin, and coriander in your cooking. Not only do they add a burst of taste, but they also contribute to your overall well-being.
